Logan City is the local government area that makes up the southern part of Brisbane. Logan City Council is the area's local governing authority. It's home to 303,386 people as of the 2016 census.[1]

In the 2016 census, Logan City recorded a population of 303,386 people, 50.6% female and 49.4% male. The median age of the Logan population was 34 years, 4 years below the national median. 65.8% of people living in Logan were born in Australia. The other top responses for country of birth were New Zealand (7.7%), England (3.8%), the Philippines (1.0%), India (0.9%) and Samoa (0.7%).
Logan is a predominantly family local government area with 78.0% of households being family households. Of these family households, 66.1% have children. The other households are single-person households (18.5%) and group households (3.5%).[1]
Employment and wealth[]
In 2016, Logan City had an unemployment rate of 8.9%, 2.0% higher than the national rate. The top industries were hospitals (except psychiatric hospitals) (3.2%), supermarket and grocery stores (3.0%), road freight transport (2.7%), primary education (2.3%) and takeaway food services (2.2%).
The weekly median household income was $1,416 (annually $73,632) and the weekly median personal income was $635 (annually $33,020).[1]
