In the 2016 census, Oxley recorded a population of 8,336 people, 50.9% female and 49.1% male. The median age of the Oxley population was 34 years, 4 years below the national median. 63.4% of people living in Oxley were born in Australia. The other top responses for country of birth were Vietnam (4.0%), England (3.6%), New Zealand (3.4%), India (1.8%) and the Philippines (1.2%).
Oxley is a predominantly family suburb with 75.4% of households being family households. Of these family households, 62.7% have children. The other households are single-person households (19.2%) and group households (5.4%).[2]
